Justice Classes

Marked is emphasizing the education and enlightenment of our city in regards to women’s issues.  Social Justice seminars will be held throughout the day, and participants may opt to attend classes and visit stations throughout the venue that take them through in-depth discovery on a particular “Learning Track.”

SEX TRAFFICKING LEARNING TRACK

Sex Trafficking:  “What”   Visit the stations set up through the classroom that will give you a better insight into the “what” of sex trafficking locally and globally.  Participate at your own pace on this self-guided journey.   1:30p.m.

Sex Trafficking: “What’s Next?”   Five quick-fire mini-presentations, each covering a unique vantage point of what the Church can do to prevent and combat human trafficking both locally and globally.   2:45p.m.

HEALTH LEARNING TRACK

Maternal Health  Explore issues of maternal health in developing countries.  Learn how your awareness can give way to action on this issue, bringing life and freedom to women around the world.  Special attention will be given to success stories where the Church has engaged this issue well. 1:30p.m.

The Search for Clean Water  We would all consider clean drinking water to be a basic right of all humans.  But for women all around the world, this seemingly simple need is elusive.  Learn how to engage in the fight for clean water for all women and discover what role the Church plays in the solution.   2:45p.m.

EMPOWERMENT LEARNING TRACK

Educational Empowerment  Investing in education for women and girls is crucial to the development of any country, including our own!  Hear from a leading organization in empowering girls through education by partnering with local churches all over the world.  4:00p.m.

Economic Empowerment   Ready for some inspiring stories?  So are we!  Women all over the world are being given freedom in ways they’ve never experienced before.  And you can play a part in this growing movement!  Hear from a practitioner operating in Kenya, employing hundreds of at-risk women and doing it in the Name of Jesus.  5:15p.m.

WOMEN IN OKLAHOMA LEARNING TRACK

Incarceration of Women  Oklahoma imprisons more women per capita than any other state.   Understanding the implications of this on Oklahoma families is crucial.   So, what can churches and individuals do to serve these families, break the cycle, and advocate for change?  Find out in this session!  4:00p.m.

Single Mothers  It’s rarely talked about.  It’s often overlooked.  But the plight of the single mother in Oklahoma is nothing to dismiss.  These mothers operate with more strength and grace than most of us ever get to see, but they can’t do it alone. Hear from a panel of every-day Oklahomans who are making a big difference in the lives of single mothers and their children in a variety of ways and be inspired to see the difference you can make, too! 5:15p.m.
